Hobart Tango Encuentro 2024

A celebration of Argentine Tango, bringing together social dancers from across Australia and beyond.

Welcome to Hobart Tango Encuentro. Encuentro in Spanish means ‘a meeting point or gathering’, in this case, Hobart, Tasmania, July 26 – 28 2024. A meeting place for Argentine Tango aficionados to share their passion for Tango and dance together socially. Our aim is to bring together tango dancers from across Australia and beyond to enjoy social dancing in a friendly environment and to experience what Argentine Culture has to offer.

We’ll be back 24-26 October 2025

2024 is a very special year for us, it is our 10th Anniversary for Hobart Tango Encuentro.

Our special guests will be Karina and Fabian Conca who have continuously supported our event.

Join us for three days of Social Dancing and Workshops. Be inspired by our guest DJ's playing a great selection of music from the Golden Age of Tango, that will keep you dancing all night long.

Immerse yourself in this Tango weekend and take the opportunity to meet new Tango friends and reconnect with some old ones and at the same time, your chance to explore Hobart, one of the most picturesque cities in the world.

Guest Teachers

Karina and Fabian Conca were born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, amidst a strong family tradition of Tango. They were introduced to Tango from an early age and represent a third generation of tango dancers in their families. Their dance style and teaching have a strong emphasis on elegance while maintaining a constant connection between the partners, reflecting their tradition and culture, rather than a sequence of steps.

Karina and Fabian had been teaching and performing for many years with regular appearances in Buenos Aires and different Tango Festivals around the world.
